LEBANON was attacked by the SWINE FLU

BEIRUT: Lebanon's Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that five people were diagnosed on Saturday with the deadly A(H1N1) virus, otherwise known as swine flu, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to eight. "The ministry confirms that all diagnosed cases have been isolated and treated," a statement said, adding that it had put the patients into quarantine for monitoring purposes. "All patients are cured, and there is no local transmission of the disease," the ministry added.
An initial three cases of swine flu were diagnosed in Lebanon and were announced by the ministry on June 1.
The swine flu patients, a Lebanese citizen returning from Spain and two Canadian tourists, were quarantined at Beirut's airport until they had fully recovered.

Lebanon imposed a ban on pork imports in late April, although pork products cannot spread the virus. Beirut followed up the move by creating a cross-ministry, national emergency committee the possible spread of the flu in the country.
Authorities also issued a request that Lebanese refrain from greeting their friends and family with the traditional kisses on the cheek to reduce the likelihood of transmission.
"If you visit someone, don't exchange kisses. Let's stop the social kissing habit," Health Minister Mohammad Jawad Khalifeh said at the time. His advice has largely been ignored by the public.

Decision Making!!!

Lately, technology has evolved or developed in a very fast way within a very short period of time. technology became a necessity in our lives in order to interact with others easily, since msn, hotmail facebook and many other site shorten time and space; communicate with the world widely, since we are able to be connected with other countries and get to know new people and culture; facilitate our work and improve our education by sending contract sheets apply cv’s and formal paper through the internet with specific systems moreover students are able to have access on huge amount of detailed information which supports them or helps them in their researches, furthermore students don’t have to attend classes anymore since they can get the course online and upload homework, projects and exams online.
Technology has a great impact on youth especially and they adapt to it easily were they cannot ignore it anymore. Internet dominated over all other media and occupied most of their times daily. Since most of the newspapers, magazines, books, TV shows and TV news are uploaded online as you tube, e-books, online newspapers and magazines. Youth are more likely to have access on it especially after the development of the advanced technology of being able to have access on the internet through mobile phones. web 2.0 allowed the sharing ideas and thoughts between the youth through open sources and blogs, where those youth became the citizen journalists due to their ability to upload photos-video/audio and articles about a certain subject, to make and have comments, to express their opinion and share ideas.
All types of media affect people in general and youth specifically positively and/or negatively. By nature youth run after technology development and they trust the media, which may affect their decisions and behaviors in several domains.
In the coming parliament election 2009 most of the candidates planned their strategies in a seductive way towards youth those that do not belong to a specific political party by using fresh, simple and smart ideas in their advertisements (TV ads-billboard ads-site ads) since they are easily driven towards persons who promise them to develop the country and deliver better services, better employment, safety and allow the voice of youth to reach the parliament. The candidates are giving them this importance since they are the future generation that will be held the responsibility of the country. The decision of the neutral youth is easily affected since they will choose the freshest slogan and that best suits their aims; but those who are involved in a specific political party won’t be affected because they would be brainwashed.
Besides being a right, voting is a duty that must be performed in a democratic way without external pressures. Even though none of the candidates supports your view, express your opinion and voter a blank paper showing your desire to have a new people in the parliament.

web reporting

Reporting for the web is a new way of thinking and working. It is an up to the minute work since it is faster than the printed and broadcasted media. The website needs breaking news in order to stay up dated and trusted by the users. When a reporter is reporting for a web he should take into consideration several rules in order to have a good report read by many people.

First of all he should think about the event or the “take” more than the filings since the people need to know the story or what is happening and not the filling details. second the report should always update the news and he may report advances news relevant to the existing one (time and relevant).moreover the style of writing should be very simple he/she should use declarative sentences, stick to one idea per sentence, and use direct language in order to attract the reader and let him feel more comfortable with reading and understanding the article/report. Sometimes it is important to have time stamps especially if the event needs add ons information after few hours instead of writing the event several times then the reporter up date the information under the timing. the most important element in web reporting is the headline, since good headlines not only aim to tell the news but also they aim to make the reader want to read the story the headline should affect the reader either negatively or positively briefly it should engage him in a way or another. Finally to make the report more vivid and spicy the reporter can add video/audio, interviews, graphics, tables, photos and maps to make more active.

my experience as a web 2.0 user...

it is a new experince, i'm very new to the world of web 2.0 this is why i cannot say a lot every tuesday i get information about it more and more.
it is the first time that i work on web 2.0,i have heard about it but i didn't have the courage to try it myself.
i think it is a marvelous technology that let the people be more active instead of being passive infront of the computer since it let us create the content and not only read or recieve what is written, let us share information and comment on others posts (share information).
